Shakti Himalayan Healing Centre

The holistic approach

Peace Times 1

The Shakti Himalayan Healing Centre is a polyclinic and residential conference Center built in 1993, on the peak of the Tinchuli hill overlooking the Kathmandu valley (Nepal), with two smaller buildings housing the clinics managed by doctors brought in from the local B.P. Memorial Health Foundation. The project was realised according to Lama Gangchen’s wishes and thanks to the generosity of Tsetan Gyurme and Fred Cagan as well as to the work of many volunteers. It is a place of exchange between Eastern and West-ern medical cultures, and is at the service of the poorest.

The dental clinic receives the support and collaboration of the Genesis Association from Toulouse, France. Presently, paediatric and gynaecology clinics are active as well as a Tibetan medical ambulatory, under the guidance of Dr Champa and advisers Doctors Pasang, Lobsang, Lhawang and Chungla.

Until now the Lama Gangchen World Peace Foundation has received about 150 requests for collaboration from various European doctors, ready to offer a few weeks voluntary work within the Healing Centre (naturally board and lodging is provided). Presently, we are looking for a team of eye doctors and for equipment for the ear, nose and throat clinic. Periodically, the Healing Centre organises courses in acupuncture, acupressure, himalayan medicine, Tibetan therapeutic massage, astrology, meditation and Self-Healing. These courses offer a unique opportunity for those professionals wishing to update their knowledge within the new age optics, and to offer concrete help to those who are suffering.
