Nepal adoptions: over 150

Increase in new sponsors thanks to «enlightened» press

Peace Times 10

Whilst some people rushed around the shops to do a bit of last minute christmas shopping - others made to themselves or to their families the priceless gift of offering to someone that they have never met a better future.

Due to the initiative of the Italian magazine Donna Moderna who in the two issues before christmas published articles on the «searching for a family» page, at least 150 people living in India and Nepal are certain to have a happy new year!

The first article brought attention to the situation of young Tibetan monks living as refugees in monasteries in South India, whilst the second aimed at finding support for young children in Nepal who without financial help would not have the possibility to attend school. The articles stimulated the interest of hundreds of people who requested information or immediately offered their help. So far 150 new adoptions at a distance have been confermed, with more arriving every day.

As we approach the festivities marking the lunar new year in February, some children will really have something to celebrate... the arrival of money which will secure their education and daily living expenses for the coming year.

The total number of adoptions has now reached over 800 with thanks to the support of magazines such as Donna Moderna who have used their influence to propagate good news and bring much needed help to those in need!
