How can we attain inner peace in our modern day
society and life?

Francesco from Ancona, Italy (aged 31)

«There are several levels of inner peace; the highest of all is reaching enlightenment, which means liberation from all negativities. One of the things great masters teach us is that external negativity does not exist; everything is neutral, things, energy, phenomena... we are the ones to create negativities by choosing to act in a negative way. It is important to learn to always maintain our mind neutral and without generating any negativities. Even if at times we find ourselves in situations which oblige us to act in a certain way, we do not necessarily have to confuse such behaviour with anger and violence. To suffer and fall into depression as a result of errors committed by others will only increase negativity. To always accept everything and maintain our mind peaceful and calm is the best solution. We must discover the causes that bring about the loss of our inner peace and learn to eliminate them. By developing great compassion, we can succeed in transforming each phenomena and emotion into a positive attitude of mind towards achieving inner peace. Tantra is transformation. Peace is the basis of all religions, and the basis of all prayers is peace. Inner peace is the medicine we need.
