Madrid Congress: 7th to 9th of May

Appointment at the Mapfre Auditorium in Madrid (Avenida General Peron 40) for the Eighth International Congress on the Diffusion of Tibetan Medicine (including a Tibetan art exhibition), from the 7th to the 9th of May, organised by the Lama Gangchen World Peace Foundation. On the agenda, three days of talks on the theme: «Education for Peace in the Third Millennium». Speakers will include Yonten Gyatso, Professor of Eastern History and Philosophy at the University of Sorbona in Paris; Asdrubel Salsamendi, retired civil servant of the United Nations; Karan Singh, President of the «Temple of Understanding» and member of the UNESCO Commission for Education in the 21st Century in New York.

«Peace education for children» will be the theme of Lhundup Dorje, advisor to the International Association of Educators for World Peace (IAEWP). Bawa Jain, representative of United Nations NGOs will speak on the «meaning of non-violence and peace», whereas Bahadur Shakya, former Education Minister of Nepal will emphasise the «educational value of Buddha’s message of peace». Professor Trivedi, President of the Institute of Ecology and Environment in New Delhi will underline the importance of caring for the environment both for individual and world peace, echoed by Charles Mercieca President of IAEWP who will speak on «Peace education through intercultural dialogue». Of particular interest there will be the presentations of Adolfo Panfili, President of the International Association of Auto-Molecular Medicine on «alternative medicine for a healthy future». Of the Tibetan doctor Yangla: «Tibetan medicine and gynaecology» and of Charo Carrillo, President of the Lama Gangchen World Peace Foundation: «Fear, causes and cure according to Tibetan medicine».

During the three days, Lama Gangchen will teach NgalSo Tantric Self-Healing, a method to live in peace with ourselves and others.
