Off to Borobudur

Peace Times 13

by Carmen Iodice

A special journey into a new century, is awaiting over 100 peace messengers coming from all over the world to join Lama Gangchen in the annual pilgrimage to the world’s greatest stupa mandala on the island of Java in Indonesia. More than just a pilgrimage it is a spiritual retreat, dedicated to caring for both body and mind, a truly rejuvenating experience with such pure sacred and special energy.

The stupa of Borobudur was built in the VIIIth century, by the Buddhist King Sailendra to pacify the surrounding volcanoes and as a testimony to the Buddhist faith which reigned in the land. It is an incredible work of art and architecture, perfectly reproducing a tantric Buddhist mandala, enabling Buddhist practitioners to physically enter a mandala instead of relying upon visualisation and imagination. This mandala reproduces exactly all stages of Lama Gangchen’s Self-Healing practice which, like Borobudur, is based upon the Five Dhyani Buddhas, the Supreme Healers of body and mind.

The retreat, from the 7th Dec to 7th Jan 2000, is open to all, and particularly to those wishing to celebrate the passage into the next century, by taking care of their inner and outer world. The retreat will include the study of the Self-Healing and Environment practices, as well as teachings on the Guyusamaja Crystal Massage: an extremely powerful meditation to heal the chakras, the elements and sensory perceptions .For information and booking contact Kunpen Lama Gangchen in Milan, Italy.
