In Lama Gangchen’s fourth visit to Almeria, Spain, the centre «Entorno de Paz» organized from the 12th to 15th of October the second retreat in Aguadulce, a picturesque coastal village 10 kms from Almeria. Lama Gangchen guided the 100 retreat participants through both the NgalSo Self-Healing practice and the Vajrayogini Crystal Massage Practice; transmitting to them the «keys» to unlock this ancient Buddhist wisdom in order to enable them to learn how to wake up their inner energies and heal their conflictive emotions. Lama Gangchen explained to those present: «In the east both spirituality and the environment are degenerating, here in the west the environment is perhaps more devalued but these are golden times for spiritual teaching». The meeting was organised as part of the centre’s programme to develop and spread alternative methods aimed at promoting a peace culture in modern society. Speaking on this topic Lama Gangchen reminded those present: «We are very different in the way we behave and dress but the most important thing is that all of us have come here to learn and to develop respect for other cultures». During the retreat, he also emphasised the need to promote and develop non-formal education which «enables us to live better in this material world, helps us to overcome difficulties, and helps us to integrate spiritual ideals». The essential Self-Healing practice of Lama Gangchen and the Vajrayogini Crystal Massage practice were the principal teachings of the retreat. However, aware of the initial difficulties of learning the new Vajrayogini method, Lama Gangchen reminded those present that the principal practice is in fact: «to do every day a positive action more and a negative action less». The continuous repetition of mantras during the retreat sessions created a powerful vibration in the room, and made for the participants a very subtle connection to the Lama’s energy. On the last day, everyone received a diploma for their participation in the retreat and Lama Gangchen was presented with a colourful Kalachakra tangkha by the organizers. The perfect finish, was a huge fire puja performed on the beach under a new moon that reflected in the sea. Just before leaving, Lama Gangchen visited the new seat of the Entorno de Paz Association in the capital. After giving it his blessings, Lama Gangchen looked very satisfied and pleased with the 300 square metres of room, that will allow members of the group to develop courses, conferences, retreats and to promote Peace Education programmes in the area.
