When it was born nearly three years ago, I entitled this newspaper «Peace Times». I did not choose to link these two words by chance or because they sound good together, I chose them and united them for the deep meaning they contain. That which I request you to buy is not a subscription to «Peace Times», - (even if the Lama Gangchen Peace Publications which publishes it is in need of your support) - but the very deep meaning which is symbolised in its name. Nowadays time has become merely something of which «there is never enough». Peace has been reduced to being something which paradoxically is only obtainable through violence. «Peace Times» also refers to moments of peace, which in itself means that we must learn to use time well, and educate ourselves to living all «times» of our life in «peace». In order to fully appreciate the precious gift of a human life, peace must be present in every moment of every day. All our thoughts, words and actions should constantly be permeated with peace. With the motivation of wishing to do our best both for ourselves and for our family, for our country and the whole world, we truly dedicate our peace time to being insoluble. «Peace Times» is an easy slogan to remember, we can repeat it as if it were a short prayer in order to remember at all times and in whatever we are doing, that peace is an essential part of our life. Upon waking in the morning, whilst we are taking care of our body, let us not forget to beautify our mind too by using the best existing make-up on the market: peace. With peace within us, we are sure never to be alone no matter what the season or age in our existence. Peace accompanies us to school, in the office, when we go shopping, on our holidays, and even to hospital; it lives with us in our own home. It is present among us and our wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, our parents, our neighbours, our colleagues, our children... Peace will never abandon us, not even when we are desperately looking for a parking space... Our days, our nights and also our dreams must become of the same nature as peace. Just as each of our gestures, looks, words, each of our five senses should vibrate with peace. With inner peace we shall have no more enemies; we shall be more beautiful because we will be rich inside. Peace with everything, everything with peace. T.Y.S. Lama Gangchen |
