World Education Awards have been designed with the scope of giving recognition to associations and insititutions, as well as individuals who, with their thoughts, words and actions have furthered the development and growth of education. The World Education Award is the only known ‘oscar’ given for education at present. It is presented yearly, chosen by an international jury, from a list of nominees. During the World Education Festival in San Remo, Italy, which is to be held from the 4th to the 6th of May, the award for the year 2000 will be presented to the International Association of Educators for World Peace and will be received by T.Y.S. Lama Gangchen, UN and UNESCO representative, the Italian Chancellor of the Association. |
